In 1949 almost every country in the world joined with
the British Commonwealth in producing stamps to mark 75th anniversary of the
Universal Postal Union. The investments progress of the issues has been patchy
but a close check of the quantities issued and the current market valuation
will give a good guide to the future of any particular set, and it should be
remembered that the centenary of UPU will be commemorated in 1974, when revived
interest may well be forecast in these now rather overlooked stamps.
